About

One recipe. Thirty-plus years. Still hand-blended.

Amber jar of Myo Glide

Myo Glide started on a massage table in the early 1990s. Donna Bajelis — a physical therapist turned Hellerwork practitioner who founded the Institute of Structural Medicine — asked her student Nancy Thorpe for a local cream that could give enough grip for deep, slow bodywork without dragging the skin. Nancy began blending coconut oil and beeswax in a kitchen pot, adjusting the ratio session by session until it was right.

Word moved through the profession the way it moves in bodywork: one therapist telling another. Thirty years later, the same recipe still ships from a small workshop in the United States, in the same amber jar, made in the same small batches.

We've never added a fragrance, an emulsifier, or a preservative. We've never chased a trend. Two ingredients, done well, is the whole product.
